Our charity work

One purpose for Bribie Island Butterfly House is to uplift the extreme poor and needy of this world through our donations to charities.

100% of our surplus funds are bringing light and hope into the darkened lives of some of our world's extreme poor.            ​​

We donate approx $10,000 every month

to local, regional and international charities and groups

Bribie Island and Moreton Bay Region

Queensland

  • endED (end Eating Disorders) – a model program of counselling and workshops

  • Butterfly Ball fundraiser for Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital Neo-Natal Unit – vouchers for guests

  • Rotary – a joint venture to bring drought affected children from western Queensland to Bribie Island for a holiday

  • GIVIT – support to fire victims in Queensland (2019)

  • Pay A Sack Forward – Every $5 Survival Sack for the homeless and needy is part-sponsored by donors

  • RizeUp Australia – services for domestic violence sufferers, eg furnishings for accommodation

  • CICADA – support for cochlear implant recipients and their families in south east Queensland

  • Drought Relief to western Queensland farmers – initiated by Bribie All-Round Tree Services

  • Broken mum’s family photoshoot appeal for 8-month old Lillian who has a limited time to live                         

  • St Vincent de Paul Society – Christmas hampers for families

  • Hear for Kids and Adult Deaf Services – for new programs to help integration into schools

  • Camp Quality Family Fun Days – vouchers for families living with cancer to visit Butterfly House

Entrust Foundation

We support the Entrust Foundation which helps make it possible for people to give wisely and knowledgeably to life-changing projects in the hard-to-reach, neediest parts of the world. 

100% of our/your money received by Entrust goes to the people in need.  Australian staff are either volunteers or paid from other donations.

  • Trafficking education and teacher salaries for refugee children in Myanmar

  • Quarry to classroom - education for 600 Indian untouchable class children 

  • life skills for pregnant teenagers in Uganda – for rape and abuse victims

  • Sulawesi Earthquake and Tsunami recovery – water storage and rebuilding 

  • Slum School Project – for snake charmers’ children in the Indian Dalit or untouchable class 

  • Clean Water, Healthy Life to poor rural communities in Cambodia

  • Women’s microfinance in Uganda and Bangladesh provides kick-start small loans for very poor rural women

  • Sewing sustainable seeds – indigenous groups in Cambodia’s highland forests

  • Integrated support for families, Thailand

  • Disabled school Uganda - resources to expand and reach more poor rural blind and deaf students 

  • Neverthirst – clean-water wells for refugees in Sudan, plus Bio-sand filter for Cambodian school and community

  • Empower - Three deep core wells in India for clean water for the Untouchable Dalit people
